About Us

Our experience as technical professionals in the energy industry gave us an appreciation for the 'Build Green' principles. Over the past 10 years, we have applied these principles to energy efficient design and construction in Oregon, Washington, California, and Colorado.

We built a log home high in the Rockies and for 8 years sold for a leading log home manufacturer. After a few winters of log home living, we realized the importance of energy conservation and building a tight, well-insulated shell. We also felt if we were going to continue to offer our design and construction project skills to customers, we needed a product we could wholeheartedly endorse.

After extensive research, we discovered that an old-world crafted timber frame home with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) offers the beauty of wood with double the R value of conventionally-insulated homes.

We evaluated the leading timber frame manufacturers and chose Davis Frame Company based on their design expertise, high quality timber standards, and customer service. Now, after building and living in two of the Davis Frame homes, we are more convinced than ever - Davis Frame is the best!

We recently returned to our native Oregon, where we designed and built our timber frame home. We took this opportunity to incorporate the latest renewable energy technologies to provide all our electricity, heat and domestic hot water needs. To accomplish this we use solar electric and solar hot water panels to compliment our passive solar home design. Now, we are living “off-the grid” and loving it.
